Part of the large folk music revival, Peter, Paul, and Mary became American folk legends in the 1960’s, and their fame and music still lives today. Mary Travers, Peter Yarrow, and Paul Stookey started the band in 1962 in the midst of the civil rights movement. Their somewhat political and socially-aware songs became popular quickly during that time. You might remember their hit cover of Bob Dylan’s “Blowin in the Wind,” probably the song they’re most famous for. They’re most recent album, “In These Times,” came out in 2003.
